Designers Amy Molyneaux and Percy Parker closed the first day of London Fashion Week with a high energy show.
The front row was bursting with celebrities- Paloma Faith, Jamie Winstone, Corinne Bailey Rae and Jo Wood to name a few. With the lights beaming and the sound of Nicki Minaj pumping PPQ unveiled the AW11 ‘Francesina’ collection- A regal Jacobean affair with a modern twist.
“She’s an important implication, a notorious reign of her time.
Her Jacobean air sparkles amidst historical darkness – through her romantic idealism she provides beauty in a period of discontent.
Purples & greens are her alternative Royal shades, as she springs forward to a new sound and vision.
Radical lengths, liquid textures and a treasonous nature define her in a regal movement of her own.
See her tiny chains gleam; she is trapped in a modern world.”
Shown on Menswear Day at London Fashion Week the collection fused tribal warrior with a cyberworld dystopia. Audience members held glow sticks in a dimly lit arena as a futuristic video flickered before their eyes. The models orbited the crowd robed in faux chinchilla fur, raven feathers and nineties geometric print.
Designers Adam Entwisle, Emma Hales and Philip Grisewood have yet again provided a collection that embraces the true spirit of Horace.
Joanne Hynes / Helen Steele
Brand new to the UK, Joanne Hynes and Helen Steele collaborated to create a range of tactile knits, heavily embellished jewellery cuffs and bib necklaces. Helen Steele brought in her own range of vibrant prints and designs to the give the collection a new dimension. Also fresh head pieces made of bark and twig gave the collection an exciting edge.
The collection received rave reviews – proving Joanne and Helen will be a force to be reckoned with!
Once again her AW11 show was a star studded event, both on and off the catwalk. With Alice Delall and Daisy Lowe walking, the show attracted the likes of Boy George, Jaime Winstone, Matt Smith and Karen Gillan.
The collection wowed the crowds with Pam’s signature catsuits and bodycon dresses – however she introduced velvet, coloured fur and sequinned pieces into the mix. The final look, modelled by Lowe, showed off her new range of exquisite headpieces consisting of a birdnest – ending what is considered one of Pam’s best shows yet!
